Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a Thursday-morning shooting in Paterson that left two individuals seriously injured.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Popeyes restaurant located at 251 Market Street, where multiple rounds of gunfire were reported.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and located two victims. One individual was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder, while a second victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Both were rushed to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in serious condition.
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene and has taken the lead in the investigation. 
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
