Investigation Continues Two Months After NJ Woman’s Disappearance

On the two-month anniversary of her disappearance, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Human Services Police Chief Brian Lee announced that the investigation into the whereabouts of 26-year-old Destiny Erts remains active and ongoing.

Erts, of Randolph, New Jersey, was last seen on Friday, July 11, 2025, around 11:30 a.m. at the Dover Public Library. She is considered intellectually disabled and endangered.

 

Authorities described Erts as a Black female, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair. 

At the time she went missing, she was wearing black pants, a navy blue tank top, a gray hooded cardigan, black shoes, and carrying a light gray bookbag.

 

Investigators have pursued leads in the Bronx and New York City. 

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing Persons Unit and the Human Services Police Department are working in coordination with the New York City Police Department to locate her.
