Inmate Escapes from New Brunswick Hospital

New Brunswick

A Middlesex County jail inmate who was receiving treatment at a local hospital Tuesday, walked away before being transported back jail.

According to reports, Sherman Martin, 23, of Plainfield, was receiving treatment for the past week at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

During his treatment, Martin was issued a conditional 'ROR' where he signed a document agreeing he could not leave the hospital unless it was with a sheriff officer.

Martin - who has since been found and returned to county jail - is now facing shoplifting, failure to appear, and escape.
