One person suffered severe injuries after a collision that occurred in Newark's North Ward on Sunday night.
According to police, it happened at approximately 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of North 13th Street and 2nd Avenue.
Police say three vehicles collided near the intersection, causing one of the cars to overturn and trap an occupant inside. Newark firefighters were able to extricate the victim who was rushed to University Hospital for treatment.
Police temporarily closed the intersection for the cleanup and investigation.
The cause of the crash has not been determined at this time.
