Illegal Dumping Crackdown Nets Two Arrests in Newark

Newark

Two Newark men were taken into custody after they were caught unloading various items from a pickup truck onto the front of a vacant residence on Monday.

Police have arrested and charged James D. Brown, 53, and Dwayne Cade, 52, both of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping last night (Monday).

According to police, at approximately 9 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed both men unloading a black Ford pickup truck of multiple cardboard boxes, white buckets, sheet rock pieces, wood debris and several filled large plastic bags and dumping these materials in front of a vacant residence at Holland Street near Gold Street.

Both men were immediately arrested and charged with Illegal Dumping and Illegal Transport of Solid Waste.

Police said the vehicle used to carry the dumped materials was towed and is subject to seizure by forfeiture.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
