Authorities announced the arrest of 40-year-old Alvaro Febus, of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping that occurred today.
According to authorities, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed a man exit a white Chevy pickup truck in the area of 3rd Street and Abington Avenue, remove debris from its flatbed and place the debris on the sidewalk.
The discarded debris included a chair, a bathroom rack, a black cart, multiple microwave ovens, an iron gate and more.
Detectives arrested Febus without incident and charged him with illegal dumping and illegal transport of solid waste.
The pickup truck was towed and is subject to forfeiture depending on the disposition of the case.
These charges are merely accusations. This suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
