Illegal Dumping Crackdown Leads to Arrest of Newark Man

A 31-year-old man was arrested following an incident of illegal dumping last night in Newark.

According to authorities, at approximately 10 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed three men unloading a U-Haul truck of wood debris, wooden doors, a sofa, concrete debris and black plastic bags onto the ground behind a building located in the 300-block of 18th Avenue.

When the men became aware of police presence two suspects ran, fleeing the scene.

The third suspect, identified as Mr. Brandon G. McLean, was immediately arrested and is charged with Illegal Dumping and Illegal Transport of Solid Waste.

The vehicle used to transport the dumped materials is subject to seizure by forfeiture.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
