Illegal Dumpers Caught Dumping Garbage Across The Street From Newark Police Headquarters

Police arrested then walked two suspects the short distance to jail who were accused of dumping garbage on a street corner located in plain view of the Newark Police Headquarters on Monday.

According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, his officers arrested Genaro Delaroca, 52, and Isidro Valdez, 33, both of East Orange, for the alleged incident of illegal dumping.

According to Director Ambrose's statement, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed two men park their white truck on Clinton Avenue and then began to unload large plastic garbage bags onto the sidewalk.

Director Ambrose said members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force moved in and took the two men into custody without further incident.

Police charged both men with illegal dumping and illegal transport of solid waste.

Their truck was subsequently towed and could be forfeited director Ambrose said.

According to Director Ambrose, the Illegal Dumping Task Force has made 19 arrests thus far this year.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
