Police are investigating an armed robbery that was reported at a ice cream shop overnight in the city.
Cops responded to the Sprinkles Ice Cream Shop located in the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue at around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival to the scene, units spoke to employees who told them that a black male suspect (who was armed with a knife) entered the store and demanded cash from.
The suspect reportedly wore dark clothing and a mask when he committed the robbery according to reports.
Authorities believe that the suspect fled in a dark colored pickup truck northbound on Lafayette Avenue.
The amount of proceeds taken is unknown.
There were no physical injuries immediately reported.
