The Essex County Prosecutor's Office was on the scene of a double stabbing in Fairfield Friday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to a 55+ community in the 20's block of West Greenbrook Road to investigate reports of a domestic violence incident before 7:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found the husband and wife suffering stab wounds at that location.
According to preliminary reports, both individuals were reportedly in life-threatening conditions.
The incident is under an active and ongoing investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
