Human Remains of Fetus Found in Wayne House

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Chief of Police Jack McNiff announce that on May 8, at approximately 5:45 p.m., police officers were dispatched to a residence in Wayne in response to a report that the remains of a human fetus had been discovered.  

The residents discovered the remains inside a storage container in their basement, and then contacted the authorities.

The Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the remains, and an autopsy will be conducted as part of the investigation.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
