Hudson Sheriff’s Officer Dies After Fall From Administration Building

Hudson County officials are investigating a tragic incident that claimed the life of a sheriff’s officer who fell from the county administration building in Jersey City on Friday morning.

According to preliminary reports, emergency crews responded to 595 Newark Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. after receiving reports of an injured person outside the building. 

Upon arrival, responders found the officer unresponsive on the ground, having reportedly fallen from an eighth-floor window. 

The window was shattered, and broken glass was visible at the scene.

The officer, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead shortly after the fall. 

No other injuries were reported.

Authorities have not confirmed the circumstances that led to the fatal fall, and an active investigation is underway to determine what happened.

Hudson County officials remained at the scene throughout the afternoon as investigators continued their work.
