Hudson Prosecutor Investigates Pedestrian Hit-and-Run in Jersey City

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian on Friday, February 10, 2023.

According to Prosecutor Suarez, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck on Communipaw Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard.

Responding officers located a victim – later identified as a 39-year-old Jersey City woman – with multiple injuries.

Prosecutor Suarez said the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center, where she is in critical condition.

During the course of the preliminary investigation, a vehicle of interest was located. The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
