Homicide Investigation for Two Victims Found Burned To Death Inside Car in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Deputy Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 2:00 a.m. This morning , the Paterson Police Department and Paterson Fire Department responded to a car fire in front of 570 East 28th Street in the City of Paterson.

Upon extinguishing the fire, it was learned that the vehicle contained two occupants who were determined to be deceased at the scene.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

The two unidentified victims were taken to the New Jersey Medical Examiner’s Office where they will be examined and identified through medical records with the support of the detectives working the investigation.

Further information will be released when identification has been determined and family notification has been made.
