An investigation is underway into a hit and run crash that left one person dead early this morning.
EMS transported a male victim (reported to be in his mid 30's) to University Hospital after being struck and critically injured by a vehicle in the area of McCarter Highway at Raymond Boulevard. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are looking for a dark colored vehicle (possibly a Jeep Cherokee) that fled northbound on McCarter Highway. The vehicle should have heavy front end damage.
The identity of the victim has not yet been releaed.
