Eighth-grade student Uwaila Agheyisi of Hillside Innovation Academy was named one of seven winners in the 2026 Stock Market Challenge, hosted by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Zeta Nu Lambda Chapter, according to program organizers.

The initiative, described as a premier financial literacy program, was designed to introduce middle and high school students to real-world investing.

Over the course of four weeks in March, 96 students from across New Jersey and beyond participated in the virtual experience.

Students were guided through expert-led sessions while actively managing a simulated investment portfolio valued at $100,000.

The program provided hands-on exposure to market trends, investment strategies, and critical financial decision-making skills.

Uwaila’s performance placed her among the program’s top participants, highlighting both her understanding of the market and her ability to apply those skills in a competitive setting.

As part of the recognition, each winner will receive $100 invested into a custodial brokerage account, giving students an early start in building financial independence and long-term investment knowledge.
