Hillside Police placed one person in custody after a brief pursuit ended in Newark's South Ward overnight.
Police engaged in the pursuit of the vehicle that rammed two police cruisers before units lost sight of the vehicle in the area of Avon and Jeliff.
Hillside Police located the vehicle then continued to pursue the vehicle from North Broad Street in Hillside into Newark.
One suspect bailed out of vehicle in the area of Bergen Street and Weequahic Avenue, causing officers to give chase, ultimately apprehending the suspect.
The incident is under investigation by the Hillside Police Department.
