A major emergency response is underway Thursday afternoon after a helicopter plunged into the Hudson River near Jersey City carrying about three children and three adults, prompting an immediate rescue effort by multiple agencies.

The incident occurred shortly after 3:15 p.m., with first responders rushing to the scene on the New Jersey side of the river.
According to preliminary reports, all individuals who were aboard the aircraft, except for 1, were recovered from the water. Their conditions have not been officially disclosed at this time.
Unconfirmed sources have indicated that at least six people have died as a result of the crash, though authorities have yet to release any formal details regarding casualties.
Video circulating on social media captured the chaos moments after the crash, showing a flurry of emergency crews working in and around the water.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded swiftly, halting vessel traffic and establishing a safety zone in the vicinity as operations continued.
As of now, it remains unclear where the helicopter originated from or its intended destination. The aircraft's ownership and flight path have not yet been made public, but it’s believed this was a tourist venture.
