Heat Returns to North Jersey as Temps. Rise Into the 90's

Good morning, New Jersey! After waking up to a refreshing 71 degrees across Newark and the North Jersey region, residents should prepare for a return to summer heat beginning today.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will rise quickly throughout the morning, with sunny skies expected to push the mercury near 91 degrees by this afternoon. 

A southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph will offer limited relief as the region transitions into a hotter stretch.

Overnight, conditions will remain warm and mostly clear, with lows in the mid-70s.

Forecasters are urging residents to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. 

Even hotter weather is expected Friday, with heat and humidity likely making it feel even warmer.
