Hazardous Weather Outlook, Flood Watch in Effect for Newark

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Flood Watch for Newark and much of Northern NJ, which will remain in effect from 6 p.m. this evening until six tomorrow, April 19. 

Forecasters said the weather data suggests that heavy rain will move into the region later this afternoon/evening. 

Rainfall totals from 1-1.5” inches are likely, and localized totals of up to 2” are possible. 

If you are traveling during the heavy rain, please give yourself additional travel time and decrease your speed to avoid hydroplaning.

Localized flooding in around majors roads in Newark are expected.
