"Hard Landing" of NY Waterways Ferry in Jersey City Sends Several to the Hospital

Authorities in Jersey City are investigating a hard landing of a ferry that sent over a dozen people to the hospital this evening.

According to a company spokesperson, The NY Waterways Ferry was traveling fromThe World Financial Center to Paulus Hook in Jersey City at about 7:15 p.m. when it made a hard landing causing about 17 people to suffer non-life threatening injuries.

There were about 57 passengers onboard the the ferry.

Most of the injuries appeared minor, however, three individuals were removed on stretchers. Five of the 17 passengers were transported to Christ Hospital and the other 12 went to the Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health.

The U.S. Coast Guard is handling the investigation
