Hamilton Head-On Crash Sends Four to Hospital, Including 2-Year-Old Boy

Hamilton Township (Atlantic)

A three-vehicle crash Monday sent three adults and a 2-year-old boy to the hospital.

According to authorities, on Aug. 13th at approximately 11:05 a.m., officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the Black Horse Pike, in the area of milepost 45 for the report of a head-on collision involving three vehicles.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Maya Sarafova, 21, of Egg Harbor Township, was traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike in a 2017 Hyundai Sonata, when she crashed into the rear of a 2016 Chevy Spark driven by George Ramp, 71, of Egg Harbor City, which was stopped in the westbound lane, attempting to make a left turn.

Officials say Sarafova’s vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lanes, where it struck a 2010 Chrysler 300, operated by Shellise Jenkins, 32, from Williamstown. Also in Jenkins' vehicle was Cinonne Jenkins, 59, of Williamstown, and a two-year-old boy.

According to authorities, Maya Sarafova, Shellise Jenkins and Cinonne Jenkins were transported to AtlantiCare for treatment. The two-year-old boy was transported via helicopter to Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Delaware for treatment of his injuries. While George Ramp was treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
