According town officials,  the latest break occurred near Belmont and Bushmann avenues, impacting customers in parts of Haledon and neighboring North Haledon.

Officials advised residents to boil water for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth until testing confirms it is safe.

Bottled water has been made available to residents as repairs continue.

The newest incident follows three earlier breaks during a stretch of frigid winter weather that strained the borough’s aging infrastructure.

According to coverage by ABC 7 New York, previous breaks forced temporary school closures and left multiple neighborhoods without water.

In an information release, Haledon Mayor Michael Johnson acknowledged the ongoing infrastructure challenges, citing aging pipes and extreme temperature swings as contributing factors.

He said borough officials are working with state and county partners to pursue long-term improvements aimed at preventing future disruptions.

Repair crews remain on site, and residents are encouraged to monitor official borough updates.
