Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Jose A. Canela-Castillo, 26, of Hackensack, on a charge of Possession of Explicit Images of Minors.
According to Prosecutor Musella, on Friday, January 14, 2022, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit identified Canela-Castillo during an ongoing Internet investigation.
The investigation revealed that Canela-Castillo used the Internet to view, download, and possess files depicting nude and/or explicit prepubescent and pubescent minors.
As a result of the investigation, Canela-Castillo was arrested on Friday, January 14, 2022, in Paramus and charged with possession of explicit images of minors.
Canela-Castillo is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
