Hackensack Man Charged with Drug-Related Offenses

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Joshua Simmons, 30, of Hackensack.

A narcotics investigation revealed that Simmons was involved in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances. 

According to police, on September 18th, law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant at Simmons’ residence.  Suspected controlled dangerous substances including cocaine, marijuana, and unknown pills, as well as drug paraphernalia, and $1,250.00 in U.S. currency were seized. 

Simmons was arrested without incident and charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine and one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. 

Simmons was released on a summons pending a first appearance court date at Central Judicial Processing on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
