Hackensack Man Accused of Inappropriate Secual Activity with 15-Year-Old Girl

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of a Hackensack man accused of having inappropriate sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.

On April 18, 2015, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department arrested 36-year-old Walter Rodriguez after learning that he engaged in inappropriate sexual activity on several occasions with a fifteen 15-year-old female.    The victim was twelve years old when the inappropriate sexual activity started but only recently disclosed that she was being victimized.    Hackensack Police Department learned of the incidents and notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.    Arrangements were made for the victim to be interviewed by a detective from the Special Victims Unit at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey. During that interview, the victim provided specific details regarding what had occurred with Rodriguez.   The ensuing investigation resulted in his arrest.  Rodriguez was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.    His bail was set by the Honorable Ronny Jo Siegal, J.S.C. at $500,000.00 with no ten percent option, no contact with the victim and the surrender of his passport as a condition of bail.    Rodriguez was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
