Hackensack Car Stop Leads to Arrest of NY Man

Hackensack New York

Authorities announced the Bergen arrest of Gerald Flores, 46, of Bronx, New York on a money laundering related charge.

According to authorities, in April 2017, detectives received information that Gerald Flores was involved in the distribution of narcotics throughout the east coast of the United States. During a motor vehicle stop yesterday, Flores' vehicle was stopped and searched in Hackensack.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over three hundred thousand dollars, which was located in a hidden compartment inside the vehicle.

He was subsequently arrested without incident and charged with one count of Transporting or Possessing Property Believed to be Derived from Criminal Activity, in an amount greater than seventy-five thousand dollars and less than five hundred thousand dollars.

Police released Flores on a summons pending a first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on June 28.

Prosecutor Grewal states that the charge against the defendant is merely an accusation and that the accused is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
