Police are attempting to ascertain a location for a shooting that had a gunshot victim enter a hospital in Newark overnight.
At approximately 12:20 a.m., officials at University Hospital notified police when a gunshot victim entered the emergency department seeking treatment for his injuries.
Officers learned of at least one shots fired incident near 126 Isabella Avenue in the city's West Ward.
In this incident, shooters fired multiple rounds in the community, but a search of the scene indicated no victims.
A vehicle sustained damage during the shooting, but no one was inside the car during the shooting.
The investigation into the shots-fired incident is under investigation.
