Gunpoint Robbery of Newark Gas Station Under Investigation

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a vehicle used in an armed gas station robbery that occurred last night at Millennium Gas, 864 Mt. Prospect Avenue, reports Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose.

According to a statement released by police, a black male drove into the gas station in a late model silver Mercedes Benz shortly before 8:45 p.m.

Police say the suspect then approached the attendant and demanded his cash at gunpoint before fleeing in the vehicle, heading north on Mt. Prospect Avenue.

Police described the suspect as 5’8” tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket, blue jeans and a white ski mask.

While police are actively searching for the suspect and vehicle, they seek the public’s help in quickly identifying him.
