Police in Newark are in the search for a suspect wanted for a reported carjacking that occurred in the city early Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to the 600 blocks of 17th Street after they received reports of a carjacking at gunpoint that occurred before 1:30 a.m.
Units arriving at the scene met the victim who reported that a black male suspect took a black 2-door 2014 Dodge with reported NJ license plate numbers "T66-KLY".
The suspect sped away in an unknown direction after the incident.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries according to reports.
