An armed carjacking at gunpoint in Newark is under investigation by police.
The incident happened Tuesday evening in the 500 block of Hunterdon Street where police were called to the scene for a carjacking in progress.
According to initial reports, a black male suspect approached the victim armed with a gun and took a gray 4-door Infinity with a reported NJ license plate number "B84-FWA".
The suspect sped away from the scene down Hunterdon Street reports said.
There were no physical injuries reported.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
