Authorities in Newark conducted a shots-fired investigation after gunfire rang out on a street in the city Friday afternoon.
Residents in the area of 6th Avenue West and Roseville Avenue contacted police when they heard several popping noises that resembled gunfire erupting in the area just before 2:10 p.m.
Police officers arrived to find that gunmen fired shots at unknown targets in the area according to reports.
Detectives marked off several shell casings while they searched for suspects and victims at the shooting scene.
There were no injuries reported and the suspects remain at large.
