Police in Paterson are on the search for a suspect who fired nearly a dozen bullets in a neighborhood in the city Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports from police, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of gunfire that erupted in the 30's block of Highland Avenue 12:10 a.m.
Police arrived at the scene immediately noticed about 11 shell casings, but a search of the area did not indicate any victims according to authorities.
A male suspect reportedly arrived in the neighborhood armed with a gun and began firing at unknown targets.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
