Gunman Fired Shots at Woman in Newark's South Ward


Newark Police are on the search for a gunman wanted for a shooting in Newark's South Ward this morning. 

According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, just before 11:15 a.m. today, police responded to Pennsylvania Avenue and Parkhurst Street on a call of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police found a shell casing at that location. 

Director Frage' said a female victim was shot at by a man she knows but was not injured.

The suspect then fled into a residence in the area and is currently being sought by police.

This incident remains under investigation.
