Police in Newark are on an active search for a suspect who fired multiple rounds on a street in the city's West Ward on Monday evening.
According to authorities, reports of shots fired sent officers to the 30's block of Brookdale Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. where arriving police units taped off the area after locating evidence that a shooting occurred.
Police searched the area and did not find any injured victims but officers canvassing the scene noticed a car struck by a bullet and multiple shell casings on the ground at that location.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
The suspect remains at-large.
