Police in Newark are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on a street in newark Tuesday evening.
According to preliminary reports, witnesses in the vicinity of 191 Garside Avenue said a black male suspect with long dreadlocks exited a vehicle then produced a handgun and began to fire at an unknown target at approximately 5:10 p.m.
The suspect then entered the car and sped from the scene northbound on Garside Street according to reports.
Police are looking for a 2000 silver Mazda Protege with a reported NJ license plate number, 'F65-KRS'.
There were no injuries reported.
