East Orange Police are investigating a shots-fired incident that resulted from a carjacking in a section of the city Thursday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, just before 9 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of Springdale Avenue and Midland Avenue.
When officers arrived, they were told that suspects fired shots during a carjacking that occurred at that location.
Police are looking for a black 2009 BMW and a white 4-door Nissan Maxima occupied by suspects who immediately sped away from the scene after the carjacking.
There were no severe injuries reported.
