The Mercer County Prosecutor's Officer are investigating an overnight shooting that left a man dead overnight in Trenton.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that erupted in the 100 block of Walnut Avenue shortly before 10:45 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found a male victim in his late 20's suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Francis Medical Center where doctors pronounced the man dead several hours later. Police set up a crime scene where they searched the area for evidence and possible suspects.
The motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.
