According to police, a ShotSpotter device activated around 4:50 p.m., alerting officers to gunfire near 101 Lincoln Street. Responding units discovered multiple shell casings at the scene, confirming that a shooting had occurred. Witnesses described the suspect as a possibly Hispanic male, last seen wearing a purple sweater and black pants. Police canvassed the area but did not immediately locate any victims, and as of late Saturday evening, no injuries had been reported. The suspect remains at large, and the incident remains under active investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Jersey City police.
