Authorities in Essex County are investigating a shots-fired incident that erupted on the border of Newark and Irvington Township on Monday evening.
Police in Newark responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of Western Parkway and Myrtle Avenue shortly before 6:50 p.m.
Officers canvassing the scene notified Irvington Police after shell casings were reportedly found on their side of the border.
During a search of the area, no victims were found.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined, and no arrests were reported.
