Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired investigation in Newark's Ironbound section Wednesday afternoon.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 1:05 p.m., police were dispatched to Pennington Court to investigate reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found shell casings, but after searching parts of the housing complex, no injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the scene and there are no reports of arrests.
No motive for the shooting has been reported.
