Police conducted a shots-fired investigation on a street this afternoon in Hillside.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the 1500 block of Hiawatha Avenue just before 2 p.m.
Units arrived and taped the area off after they found shell casings in the residential neighborhood.
There were no immediate reports of serious injuries.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
