Authorities in Newark located shell casings on the scene of a shooting in the city's South Ward Saturday afternoon.
Police say gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 191 Chadwick Avenue, prompting a police investigation.
Units arrived and found evidence that a shooting occurred, but the suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident.
There were no injuries reported.
The gunman remains at large.
