A Middlesex County grand jury has decided not to pursue criminal charges against Edison Police Officer Christopher Siedenburg in connection with a 2022 incident involving alleged non-fatal use of force, authorities announced.

According to a statement released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, the grand jury concluded its deliberations on May 28, 2025, and returned a “no bill,” meaning jurors found there was insufficient evidence to bring charges against Officer Siedenburg.
The case stemmed from an incident on August 3, 2022, when officers responded to an individual who fled from an ambulance en route to a mental health facility.
The person was located inside a doctor’s office nearby and, according to the investigation, did not comply with efforts to return to the ambulance.
Officer Siedenburg was later accused of using a chokehold during the encounter.
The Prosecutor’s Office conducted the investigation under the supervision of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability.
As required by state policy, the probe included witness interviews, police reports, and body camera footage.
A review found no conflict of interest among investigators, and the case was presented to the grand jury in accordance with the Attorney General’s Independent Prosecutor Directive.

After reviewing the evidence, jurors determined no criminal charges were warranted.
