Gradual Weather Improvement in Newark, Though Showers Expected by Evening

Newark and the broader North Jersey region is experiencing a chilly and cloudy start to the morning, with conditions slightly improving from the previous day.AdEarly morning temperatures in Newark hovered around 45 degrees at 4:40 a.m. and are expected to reach a high of approximately 57 degrees later today.

While the day promises to be predominantly dry, the National Weather Service forecasts a 30 percent chance of showers beginning after 5 p.m.

The skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, with northeast winds shifting to the southeast in the afternoon and speeds ranging from 6 to 10 mph.

As evening approaches, NWS forecasters said the likelihood of showers increases, particularly after 11 p.m., with the chance of precipitation rising to 60 percent.AdNighttime conditions will stay cloudy, with temperatures dropping to a low of around 48 degrees.

Southeast winds will continue at a mild 3 to 8 mph, and new precipitation amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch.

Residents are advised to enjoy the dry daylight hours before the wetter conditions set in this evening.
