Gorgeous Weather Ahead for Newark Area After Rainy Start to the Week

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

After a damp beginning to the week, Newark and much of North Jersey can look forward to a beautiful day as clear skies and warm temperatures move in.

Residents woke up Wednesday morning to partly cloudy skies, a light breeze, and pleasant temperatures—68 degrees in downtown Newark—setting the stage for what forecasters are calling the “pick of the week.”

According to the National Weather Service, the region will enjoy sunshine throughout the day, with highs reaching near 86 degrees.

Light winds will shift westward by mid-morning at speeds of 8 to 13 mph.

While some areas in Sussex and Morris counties may see patches of dense fog early on, it is expected to clear quickly.

However, the NWS also warns of widespread haze after 4 p.m. due to smoke from ongoing Canadian wildfires.

The haze may linger into the early evening before skies become mostly clear overnight, with lows around 68 degrees.
