An investigation is underway into an armed robbery of a gas station that happened overnight in Haledon.
Police were called to the Exxon Gas Station located in the 400 block of Haledon Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. on reports of an armed robbery at gunpoint.
Officers arrived to the scene and were approached by an attendant who told them that a Hispanic or Middle Eastern male with full facial hair approached him shortly before police arrived and brandished a weapon from underneath his jacket, then demanded cash.
A undetermined amount of cash was handed over to the suspect before he fled the scene in a 2016 Ford Fusion according to the attendant.
The vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the evening at the BP Gas station located on Broadway and Summer Street in the City of Paterson.
According to reports, the vehicle was left running at the BP Gas station when a thief jumped in and sped away with the car.
There were no physical injuries reported in the armed robbery.
