Authorities in Bergen County are reporting the arrest of 37-year-old Mr. Andrew G. Maurer of Garfield on the charge of possession of Explicit Images of Minors. 
According to a statement released by Prosecutor Mark Musella , on Thursday, November 20, the Garfield Police Department notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit of a resident from their jurisdiction who may be in Explicit Images of Minors.
Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an Internet explicit abuse of minors material investigation, which included a subsequent court-authorized search of Maurer‘s residence in Garfield.
The investigation revealed that Maurer used the Internet to view, download, and possess over 1,000 digital files depicting nude and/or Explicit Images of Minors.
As a result of the investigation, Maurer was arrested on Thursday, November 20, in Phillipsburg, and charged accordingly. 
He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
