Garden State Parkway Weekend Closure Advisory

Sayreville

TRAFFIC ALERT SAYREVILLE-- The southbound local roadway of the Garden State Parkway in Sayreville will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, December 2nd, to 7 a.m. Monday, December 5th, for bridge repairs.

All southbound through-traffic will be directed onto the express roadway south of the Raritan tolls during the closure.

Southbound drivers should expect delays during peak travel times this weekend and might want to consider alternate routes.

Drivers should note that there will be no access to the southbound Parkway from Route 440.

That ramp will be closed, as will the ramps that tie into it from Riverside Drive and Smith Street.

The ramp to the southbound Parkway from Chevalier Avenue in Sayreville will also be closed.

A signed detour route will direct drivers from those closed ramps to the southbound Parkway at interchange 117 via Route 9, Route 35, and Lloyd Road.

The exits from the southbound Parkway to Main Street (Exit 124) and Route 9 (Exit 123) will remain open and accessible to southbound traffic during the closure.

Northbound lanes on the local and express roadways will also remain open.

Construction crews will be working around the clock through the weekend to replace the deck of the bridge that carries the southbound local roadway over Bordentown Avenue in Sayreville.
