On Saturday morning, one person suffered fatal injuries in a vehicle fire on a highway in Passaic County.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the incident was dispatched to NJ State Police just before 1:30 a.m. in the southbound lane of The Garden State Parkway near mile marker 153.5 in Clifton.
Police and Fire crews arrived and found a car fully involved in flames at that location.
After firefighters extinguished the flames, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The NJ State Police will handle the active and ongoing investigation.
